My Sample Poster (24" x 18")

If the "My Preparing a Poster..." image below is scaled to fit into this window and looks lousy-- you are using Internet Explorer on a Windows PC, aren't you!? You may be interested in options for correcting image scaling.

The original PowerPoint poster measures 48" x 36" and the file is 11.8 MB in file size. It would be difficult to distribute such information via the web. The image below is exactally half those dimensions and only 270k. It's big enough to give you an idea of the possibilities. The little "green tags" suggest some poster design techniques available in PowerPoint.

Options for Correcting Image Scaling

Recent versions of IE are configured to shrink large images so that the user won't have to scroll around to see the image. BUT, shrinking the image makes it look terrible in IE. There are a couple of solutions to this problem.

Fix # 1

Select;
Tools > Internet Options
Click the Advanced Tab
Scroll down to the Multimedia section & make sure that "Enable Automatic Image Resizing" is NOT checked!

Then you'll never have this problem again.

Fix # 2

Depending upon the version of IE you have -- you may be able to click the "magic" enlarge button in the bottom left corner of the displayed image. This button appears a few seconds after the cursor moves over and stops atop a scaled or oversized (too large for current window) image.

The inverse "shrink" button will appear in the bottom-right corner of the window once you have expanded the image. These buttons allow you to toggle back and forth between views.
