Controlling the Movie

This is one of the WebCT movies that you can view on this site. All movies will open in a new browser window. Below each movie, you will see a volume control, a start/stop button and a slider. The slider has a round button on it. As the movie plays, the button moves from left to right. The movie should play almost instantly, but that depends on the speed of the connection.

The text above the movie tells you to close the browser window after you have watched the movie.

Here you see a close-up of the volume control and the slider.
This is the volume control.
This is the start/stop button. There are two ways to start and stop the movie: Click the start/stop button or double click anywhere on the movie.
This is the slider button. You can move the slider back and forth after the movie starts playing. It works like a forward and reverse.

Notice that some of the space in front of the slider button is grey and some is white. The grey area indicates the amount of downloaded movie or "buffer". As the movie downloads, the grey area will progress to the right filling the white area. If the round slider control moves faster than the grey area, the movie will stall temporarily until more of the movie downloads and the grey progresses more to the right.

Retrun to the previous page by using the back button of the browser.
