English Communication Skills Courses at CE

Welcome to the English Communication Skills Home Page

The Division of Continuing Education is once again thrilled to be offering English Communication Skills courses! This six week class will provide a relaxed, non-judgmental setting for both native and non-native English speakers. More than simply learning better English communication skills, this class offers students the opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences with people of other cultures as well as allowing newcomers to connect with the community.

The English Language Program (ELP) Community Courses offer classes for those who wish to improve their everyday English communication skills or enhance their command of English for professional purposes. These non-credit classes focus on listening and speaking skills and are designed for those who do not wish to enroll in a full course of study.Speakers of all ability levels are welcome. Classes are small, with an average of 10 students per class, so students are able to receive personalized attention.

Course Dates: Fridays, October 27, 2017 – December 8, 2017
(Classes will not be held November 24 in observance of Thanksgiving)

Course Times: 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Course Location: Nessmith-Lane Center, Room 1906 | Statesboro, Georgia

Course Cost: $75

Get to know your instructor for English Communication Skill!

Amy Perry has over 15 years of experience teaching ESOL both abroad and domestically.

Amy Perry holds a B.A. in Sociology and French from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and a M.A. in International Relations from the International University of Japan.

Amy has been teaching ESL abroad and domestically for over 15 years. Prior to joining Georgia Southern, she established a local ESL program for new immigrants living in the Statesboro area.

She is currently furthering her studies with Georgia Southern’s graduate Applied Linguistics/TESOL certificate.
