Suzanne Shurling joined the Georgia Southern University’s Division of Continuing Education team at the Coastal Georgia Center in Savannah, Georgia in November of 2016. As an Event Planner, Suzanne manages full life cycle event coordination, conference planning, and execution.
Prior to joining the CE team, while obtaining her Masters as an active member of the Alpha Kappa Delta International Sociology Honor Society, Suzanne worked with the Sexual Assault Response Team and the Sexual Assault Student Educators at Georgia Southern University. She prepared for these vocations by serving as a victims advocate for several years with the Statesboro Regional Sexual Assault Center, where she continues to volunteer. In her spare time, Suzanne often serves as a speaker at various events where she equips, empowers and educates in the face of gendered violence.
Suzanne was born in Savannah and raised in Effingham County but has considered Statesboro her home for almost a decade now. She strives to support her community through her work on the steering committee of the Bulloch County Beloved Community, as well as other local organizations.
