SoTL Commons Call for Proposals – A Conference for the Scholarship of Teaching & Learning

STATESBORO, Ga. –October 15, 2014- Georgia Southern University Centers for Teaching and Technology currently invites proposals for the 8th annual SoTL Commons conference. The conference will be held March 25 – 27, 2015 at the Coastal Georgia Center in historic downtown Savannah, Ga.

The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) engages individuals in designing, conducting, and publishing research on teaching and learning. College and university professors, administrators, faculty developers, librarians and graduate students interested in the scholarship of teaching and learning are encouraged to submit a proposal for review.

The 2015 Conference theme is “I Speak SoTL: Many Disciplines. One Language.” New conference tracks have been added inviting a variety of disciplines to engage with the scholarship of teaching and learning. Conference tracks include:
• Online Learning
• Teaching with Technology
• Assessment (Course, Program and Institutional Levels)
• Academic/Professional Development
• Learning Theories and Pedagogy
• Student Voices in SoTL

Graduate students engaged in original SoTL research are especially encouraged to submit a poster session proposal for review. Posters may be related to any of the conference tracks.

Proposals may be submitted online before November 15, 2014 to be considered for review. All proposals are reviewed by the SoTL Commons Review Board through a double-blind, peer-review process.
