Withdrawal Policy FACT SHEET |
|||
WHO: |
Georgia Southern University Undergraduate Students | ||
| WHAT: | Students may withdraw from a maximum of five courses for their entire time at the University. Students who reached the maximum number of withdrawals may elect to receive a “withdrawal-failing” (WF) grade in the course (WF is calculated as an F for GPA purposes). Only withdrawals incurred at the University count toward the maximum number. Withdrawals incurred prior to the implementation date will not count toward the number of allowed withdrawals. Transfer students, upon enrolling at the University, are also limited to five course withdrawals. Withdrawals from courses taken during summer semester do not count toward the maximum number. Total course withdrawals due to military or medical reasons (documented and approved by the Registrar’s Office or the Counseling Center) are automatically exempted (students completely withdrawing from all courses for other reasons may petition in writing to the Dean of Students for an exemption). A student may appeal to the dean of his/her academic college if the maximum number of withdrawals has been reached and there are extenuating circumstances beyond the student’s control that requires a course withdrawal |
