Design-for-Accessibility Workshop Series CertificateCreating accessible Web sites not only enhances accessibility for people with disabilities, it enhances the usability of sites in general for everyone. Web page accessibility guidelines foster good Web page construction techniques. Please take the Design-for-Accessibility series in sequential order from #1 to #4 as we will be progressively building on concepts throughout all of the workshops. At the successful completion of each workshop you will receive a certificate of completion showing that you are well rehearsed in the concepts of Accessible design for people with disabilities. Sign up for a Design-for-Accessibility Workshop at the CET! Workshop Series:Workshop #1: Design-for-Accessibility! – An IntroductionWhat is Accessibility for people with disabilities? This workshop will allow you to sit back and relax while learning how accessible Web design enhances to usability of your site to everyone. The presentation will cover an introduction to different disabilities and what barriers people accessing Web pages on the Internet often find. It will also provide an introduction to the Web Page Accessibility Office Web site. This is the first workshop in the four part series: Design-for-Accessibility!Workshop #2: Design-for-Accessibility! – The Easy WayNow you understand the basics, what’s next? Learn some of the very easy techniques you can apply to enhance the accessibility of your Web site, such as adding alternate text to images, using headers, and choosing contrasting colors for your Web page. It includes an overview and explanation of the various tools you can use to evaluate your Web page for accessibility. This is the second workshop in the four part series: Design-for-Accessibility! Prerequisites: Workshop #1 Workshop #3: Design-for-Accessibility! – Layout and Data TablesLearn what techniques you can use to make your layout and data tables accessible to people with disabilities. Learn about the problems that nested tables, data tables, and unorganized layout present to people with disabilities. This is the third workshop in the four part series: Design-for-Accessibility! Prerequisites: Workshop #1 and #2Workshop #4: Design-for-Accessibility! – Frames, Forms, and MultimediaLearn how to produce accessible frames and forms for people with disabilities. Furthermore, learn the limitations of making multimedia accessible. This includes audio, video, and audio/video productions.
